Earthquakes are an unfortunate reality of property ownership in California. LaRocca Inspections developed a specialized “post-earthquake building evaluation inspection” after the 1994 Northridge quake. The purpose of the inspection is to provide the client with information regarding any immediate hazards or major damage to the property due to an earthquake.

If there is any concern after an earthquake, you can request an inspection by calling our office, (818) 951-1795, or filling out the request an inspection form located here.

Our Post-Earthquake
Evaluation Inspections

A post-earthquake evaluation inspection is performed on residential, multi-family, or commercial properties following seismic activity in order to evaluate the safety of the building and detect hazards and damage.

In the event of a larger seismic event, our inspectors will be out in the neighborhoods with the most damage offering post-earthquake inspections. You will be able to recognize the inspectors because they will be wearing green vests with a tag stating that they are post-earthquake inspectors.

What the inspector will examine:

  • Immediate hazards
  • Gas leaks
  • Electrical system damage
  • Structural stability
  • Water heaters
  • Heating and cooling
  • Foundation
  • Interiors
  • Garage
  • Pool (if applicable)
